Abstract: The article presents the results of an experimental study of changes of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFα) concentration in blood serum at the development of diffuse cardiosclerosis (DCS) in rats with different resistance to hypoxia at early application of trimetazidine. Experiments were done on 192 experimental white male rats which were divided into groups according to their different resistance to exogenous hypobaric hypoxia. Experiments proved that early correction of DCS with 10 mg/kg trimetazidine, when administered per os to rats daily from the first day of disease, has an inhibitory effect on the content of TNFα in blood serum of animals. TNFα concentration in the blood serum of animals is significantly increased after 7 days of modelling of DCS and trimetazidine correction followed by a reduction in the activity of inflammatory changes. Normalization of TNFα concentration in serum of animals with higher resistance to hypoxia at 30-day stage of observation of DCS against the trimetazidine background indicates less intense inflammatory changes in this group of animals. Given the impact of the drug on intensity of inflammatory changes in the pathogenesis of the studied pathology, the research extends the substantiation of therapeutic use of agents stimulating endogenous cardioprotection. The features discovered were analyzed using the latest scientific achievements in the field.

Abstract: Gender and age differences in incidences of drug abuse have been investigated on the basis of official data of the Narcological Service of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus. The study involved patients with addictions syndrome to narcotic drugs and nonnarcotic psychoactive substances, registered in drug abuse reports of the Ministry of Health. Analysis of patients abused to psychoactive substances was performed on the basis of social and epidemiologic parameters given in registration charts of firstly diagnosed patients and taken off the National Narcological Register. Dependence on certain drugs (opioids, cannabinoides, inhalants, tranquillizers, and sedatives) was been shown to correlate with gender and age of registered drug abusers. The data obtained confirm the necessity of gender and age-related studies on drug abuse prevalence. They can be of practical use for development of preventive activities to combat the spread of drug addiction.

Abstract: Role of interferons in allergic diseases is complex and not clear enough. The aim of the study was to evaluate a-interferon production in patients with pollinosis during certain periods of the disease and following various types of therapy. A total of 75 patients with pollinosis and 45 healthy controls were enrolled in the study. We assessed the level of α-interferon production by activated leukocytes in vitro. Interferon level was measured with the cytopatic effect reduction assay. Interferon induction was performed in whole blood cells with Newcastle virus for 24 hours at 37 C with 5% CO Interferon level in supernatant was measured with the cytopathic effect reduction assay using encephalomyocarditis virus and human M19 fibroblast cells cultured in Eagle medium with 10% fetal bovine serum (10 cell/ml). We concluded that there can be a-interferon deficiency in patients with pollinosis. In allergen specific immunotherapy there was a significant stable increase in α-interferon production. We have not identified any significant change in α-interferon production following any medical therapy. Suppression of α-interferon production by leucocytes in vitro confirms inhibitory effect of IgE onto interferon synthesis.

UDC: 616-072.7
Abstract: Diagnostic value of qualitative assessment of renal blood flow intensity with a standardized procedure in adolescents with obesity and metabolic syndrome is discussed in the paper. The study involved 41 patients investigated with a Doppler ultrasound technique. Ultrasonography was performed with a digital portable ultrasound system ANGIODIN-Sono/P-Ultra ("BIOSS", Russian). Children with obesity and metabolic syndrome have been found to have high frequency of registration 2, 3, and 4 types of renal blood flow, witnessing the decline in its intensity. Power Doppler technique with a standardized evaluation scheme is able to determine the intensity of renal blood flow in children with obesity and metabolic syndrome rather accurately due to the high reproducibility of the technique.

Abstract: Modern pharmaceutical market requires certain changes in traditional understanding of human resources management. The number of the social and psychological studies devoted to the problems affecting various aspects of pharmaceutical specialists work has increased. Results of the studies are actively implemented into practice of pharmaceutical companies. Professionally significant features representing a set of personal qualities contributing to professional success are analyzed. Pharmaceutical business is sure to require specific qualities of a personality: motivation for communication, working capacity, patience and attentiveness in a high level of psychological readiness. Interpersonal relations of the staff have a significant influence on efficiency of teem-work. Taking social and psychological features into account allows improving the efficiency of the pharmaceutical business. Study of psychological characteristics of four small groups, the technique of diagnostics of the interpersonal relations is presented in the paper. The study involved Timothy Leary's test. It demonstrated an opportunity to use successfully the technique in staff management in pharmaceutical business.

Abstract: The article describes a clinical case of a patient with undifferentiated connective tissue disease. The disease had a great variety of clinical manifestation, so diagnostics was a challenge for doctors of different specialties, both at outpatient and inpatient departments. Analysis of differential diagnostics has been carried to exclude pneumonia, extrinsic allergic alveolitis, infectious diseases, coronary heart disease, hypothyroidism, dissecting aortic aneurysm, myocarditis, pericarditis, severe sepsis, mixed and undifferentiated connective tissue disease.
